The Stingers converted three of four nominations, taking home best independent rock album or EP, independent album and artist of the year.

This year’s contingent numbers 32 acts, “highlighting the diverse array of sounds and genres coming out of Australia,” Sounds Australia says.

Jesswar, Peach Fur, Mo's Desert Clubhouse and Scott French also received nods at the Gold Coast music industry's night of nights.

Now in its seventh year, the Gold Coast Music Awards will go down at the city's Home of the Arts on Saturday, September 4.

Alex Lahey, Woodes, Jesswar and Sarah Buckley have been named among this year's APRA Professional Development Award winners.
