Venue Management Association Welcomes New President
The Venue Management Association has welcomed a new president, who succeeds Phil King following his three-year term.

The Venue Management Association has appointed Megan O’Reilly as its new president.
O’Reilly, who currently serves as chief operating officer of Melbourne Park, will succeed Phil King following his three-year term as president of the association.
The appointment marks a significant leadership change for the VMA, which represents venue professionals across the Asia-Pacific region, and comes at a time of continued growth and transformation across the live events and entertainment sector.
At Melbourne Park, O’Reilly oversees the operation and future development of one of the world’s leading sporting and entertainment precincts, including major event delivery, hospitality and customer experience, infrastructure and asset management, security, capital works and long-term planning. She also leads operational delivery of the Australian Open.
O’Reilly has also previously contributed to the VMA through its Congress Committee and Mentor Program Committee, with a strong focus on industry development and supporting emerging leaders.
VMA CEO Joel Edmondson welcomed the appointment, describing O’Reilly as “an exceptional leader with deep operational expertise, strategic vision and a genuine passion for people and industry development".
He said: “She brings a collaborative, future-focused approach that aligns strongly with where the Association is heading and the opportunities ahead for our industry", adding that her appointment “reflects the continued evolution of the VMA and the importance of strong, diverse leadership across the venue industry".

O’Reilly’s appointment also marks a milestone for the organisation, with the Melbourne Park executive becoming only the second female president in the VMA’s 34-year history.
“I am proud to take on the role of President of the VMA and represent an industry and community that I care deeply about,” O’Reilly said. “I believe our industry is at a pivotal moment and that the VMA has an important role to play in shaping a connected, innovative and resilient future for venues across the Asia-Pacific.”
O’Reilly will be formally introduced in the role at the 36th Asia-Pacific Venue Industry Congress in Adelaide this June.
