Rolling Stone Australia presented Melbourne global hitmaker Tones And I with her very own Rolling Stone diamond ring in Sydney today.

The Australian Rolling Stone office has launched a global first for the iconic media title as it rolls out a new measure where every person featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Australia will receive their very own diamond ring to mark the occasion.

Presented to Tones And I at Sony Music's Sydney office, the May 2020 Rolling Stone cover star was presented with the 18k White Gold ring featuring 241 Round Black Diamonds. The diamonds total approximately 1 carat of diamonds.

The ring was created by Affinity Diamonds in Sydney and designed in collaboration with Rolling Stone.

"It's an honour to be the first artist in the world to receive a Rolling Stone ring," said Tones And I. "I think it's such a unique idea and it represents a huge milestone in an artist's career, it's something I'm really proud of."

Multi-ARIA winner Tones And I is hard at work on her upcoming debut album, which follows her global Gold-certified EP The Kids Are Coming. The album's first single "Fly Away" was released last November and it's been travelling the globe ever since. The single charted at number 4 on the ARIA chart and inside the Top 50 in over 10 countries, including Poland, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark and Belgium.

Rolling Stone Australia will host its first Awards on March 31, where all award winners will also be presented with Rolling Stone diamond rings in lieu of trophy awards. The inspiration behind the rings comes from America's National Football League, where championship rings are collectable mementos to symbolise victories.

As previously announced, the evening will also see a musical performance by rising superstar Mia Rodriguez, whose profile has been perpetually growing since her signing to City Pop Records in late 2019. Meanwhile, current March Rolling Stone Australia cover artist Tash Sultana will also offer up an exclusive performance, having released their highly-anticipated second album – Terra Firma – last month.
