Taylor Swift has rewrote the book on music ownership in the 21st century. And now she continues to do so, this time exercising her rights over music award eligibility.

According to a Republic Records representative, Swift will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) for this year's upcoming Grammy Awards, or the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.

As reported by Billboard, in a statement they said, “After careful consideration, Taylor Swift will not be submitting Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in any category at this year’s upcoming Grammy and CMA Awards."

They continued, "Fearless has already won four Grammys including album of the year, as well as the CMA Award for album of the year in 2009/2010 and remains the most awarded country album of all time.”

Elsewhere in the statement, while Swift's representatives stated that Fearless (Taylor's Version) won't be the subject of awards show scrutiny, her ninth studio album Evermore which she released in December 2020 will.

Swift will still be submitting Evermore to Grammys, to be in eligible in all awards categories so that voters are able to focus on just the one album and not be divided between two of her projects which would essentially be competing against each other.

Evermore is set to be a fierce contender at the upcoming Grammy Awards, particularly since it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

And that album hasn't been the only one of Swift's to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart. She achieved the same success with, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), just the same way that the original Fearless album did back in 2008.

Swift's album Folklore - which released just five months before Evermore earned Swift an Album of the Year Grammy. Will Swift back it up again this year?
