The Rockin' the Puburbs competition –  set up to open doors for a NSW act looking for a break-through - is back for the second year.

It is an initiative of the Australian Hotels Association NSW, APRA AMCOS, Live Music Office and MusicNSW.

The idea is to find the next big thing in the corner pub.

AHA NSW CEO John Whelan said, “The NSW hotel industry has always been a big supporter of live music – with about 75,000 live music acts in pubs each year.

“We are currently searching for a NSW-based act who perform at least one song of original music – we want the best of the best from across the state; whether that’s a band, a solo performer or a duo.

“It will help local talent gain recognition in the music industry and maybe even become a household name.”

The winner picks up a $15,000 prize package from AHA NSW which includes live gigs at pubs across NSW in 2018/2019, a dedicated tour publicist and mentoring sessions with industry experts.
