The Red Hot Chili Peppers final Australian show set a new attendance record following their 10-day spree across the country this week.

At Perth’s HBF Park Stadium, they drew a crowd of 32,932.

That eclipsed the venue record of 32,000 ticket sales previously held by Ed Sheeran and, prior to that, the 31,997 sales for Foo Fighters in 2015.

Promoter Live Nation says the band also set new crowd numbers at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart (their first ever show there) and outdoor shows at Hope Estate Winery in the Hunter Valley, at Mt. Duneed Estate (presented in association with A Day on The Green), and a sold-out Adelaide Superloop 500 Post Race Concert.

They shifted 200,000 tickets during the visit and grossed close to $30 million.

Tickets sold out instantly when they went on sale in October.

The US band changed its two-hour setlist each night,  throwing in classic covers from The Stooges, Elvis Costello and Funkadelic.
