NSW Parliamentary Inquiry will examine music and arts economy

The NSW Upper House has launched an inquiry into the state’s music and arts economy.

The development should open the channels of communication between the Parliament and the music industry, and drill into some hot-button topics from the implementation of the Government’s response to the NSW Night Time Economy Roundtable Action Plan in December 2016, through to policies that that could support a “diverse and vibrant music and arts culture” across the state.

“I welcome the opportunity for the music industry to appear directly before the Parliament,” comments John Graham, Labor Member of the Legislative Council, in a statement.

“I look forward to working with the industry to find new ways the NSW Government can support our vibrant music and arts economy.”

The NSW Legislative Council on Thursday (Nov. 23) voted to establish the examination, which will report on the music and arts economy in Sydney and regional NSW.
