A new trailer for the Michael Jackson biopic has dropped.

Lionsgate has shared another teaser for Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua, which chronicles the journey of the King of Pop from his early days to global superstardom. Jackson is portrayed by his own nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in what marks a significant casting choice for the film.

According to the official synopsis, Michael "explores the global superstar's journey to become known to the world as the King of Pop, presenting an intimate look at the life and enduring legacy of one of the most influential, trailblazing artists the world has ever known."

The highly anticipated biopic unveiled its first trailer last November.

The first trailer opened with an intimate studio scene featuring Jackson alongside producer Quincy Jones, played by Kendrick Sampson, who delivers the line: "I know you've been waiting a long time for this. The tracks are made, the songs are ready. Let's take it from the top."

Michael boasts an impressive ensemble cast that brings Jackson's inner circle to life. Miles Teller takes on the role of Jackson's attorney and adviser John Branca, while Colman Domingo portrays his father Joe Jackson. Nia Long plays his mother Katherine Jackson, with Jessica Sula as sister LaToya Jackson.

The film's production wrapped in May 2024, though it underwent reshoots that contributed to its release date shift from October 2025 to April 2026.

John Logan, known for his work on Alien: Covenant and Rango, penned the screenplay. The production team includes John Branca, Graham King, and John McClain as producers, with David B. Householter serving as executive producer.

Fuqua previously revealed his confidence in his star’s portrayal. “But most importantly, it’s Jaafar who embodies Michael,” Fuqua told People. “It goes beyond the physical resemblance. It’s Michael’s spirit that comes through in a magical way. You have to experience it to believe it.”
