Kicks Entertainment, the promoter behind Spilt Milk, is expanding into country with the launch of a new festival, Strummingbird, set to debut this spring.
The first edition will take place in three cities: Sunshine Coast on October 25th, Newcastle on November 1st, and Perth on November 2nd.
Strummingbird will be headlined by Jelly Roll, the Grammy-nominated Nashville artist known for his mix of country, rock, and hip-hop influences.
He will be joined by Shaboozey, the Virginia-born singer and rapper behind the chart-topping hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which reached number one in Australia and earned double Platinum certification. Shaboozey’s album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going recently debuted at number five in the US, and his latest single “Good News” is climbing the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
The full lineup also includes Treaty Oak Revival, James Johnston, Kaylee Bell, Matt Hansen, Drew Baldridge, Julia Cole, The Jack Wharff Band, The Dreggs, Wade Forster, Zac & George, Rachael Fahim, Denvah, Late Night Riot, Hot Dub Time Machine, and Y.O.G.A.
This marks Kicks Entertainment’s first venture into the country genre. Hints of the lineup began surfacing earlier this month when Strummingbird’s social media teased Shaboozey’s involvement using his music in a promotional clip. Jelly Roll’s participation was later suggested by his wife, Bunnie Xo, during a podcast episode, where she mentioned that he would be traveling to Australia for several weeks following his European tour. Fans also reported seeing online ads promoting a Jelly Roll VIP experience in regional Queensland.
Pre-sale tickets open on August 7th, with general sales starting August 8th.
