Montaigne Eurovision decider 2020

Australia has decided and the decision is final.

Sony Music-signed artist Montaigne won the judges ears and the hearts of Australia in a nail-biting finish for the Eurovision decider.

Broadcast live on SBS, 334,000 metro overnight viewers watched on to witness Montaigne leap ahead of runner up Casey Donovan with just seven points between them.

After winning over the public with 53 points, and a jury of industry experts with 54 points, Montaigne will go on to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in May.

“This is wild!" said the 24-year-old Sydney-based Montaigne, who will become the sixth Aussie acts to perform in the annual song contest.

She now follows in the footsteps of Kate Miller-Heidke, Jessica Mauboy, Isaiah Firebrace, Dami Im and Guy Sebastian.

"I started out just grateful to be a part of Eurovision but this is fricken insane!" she said.
