Melbourne Music Week announces huge return lineup

Melbourne Music Week has made up for lost time by returning with a stacked lineup of local talent.

With this version coming after such a long and stifling lockdown, this Melbourne Music Week is all set to be the biggest - and most important - one yet, which is saying something.

The organisers have announced the latest 2021 edition will take place from Friday, December 3rd until Sunday, December 12th, with a few events left over for January and February 2022 as a little extra.

More than 300 artists will feature this time round, across 70 events over 23 locations, as Melbourne's music community does its best to return to normality.

The likes of Camp Copes's Georgia Maq, Emma Donovan & the Putbacks, Bananagun, EXEK, and Squid Nebula are just some of the names taking part this year. Acclaimed electronic producer Holly Herndon will also be providing a special livestream keynote presentation.

Lord Mayor Sally Capp shared her happiness at the return of Melbourne Music Week in a statement. "We’re thrilled to be able to deliver Melbourne Music Week again this year and throw our support behind venues, promoters, artists and other live music industry talent," she said.

Tickets are now on sale so you'll have to be quick if you want to catch your favourite act. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 iteration still managed to attract over 70,000 attendees.
