Masked Wolf Watch: ‘Astronaut In The Ocean’ floats into U.S. Top 10
Masked Wolf impacts the U.S. Top 10 for the first time, and hits new chart peaks in the U.K. and Australia with 'Astronaut In The Ocean’.

Masked Wolf is hunting some rare chart glory.
The Sydney rapper’s viral hit ‘Astronaut In The Ocean’ cracks the U.S. Top 10 for the first time, and climbs to new peaks in the U.K. and Australia.
‘Astronaut in the Ocean’ floats 12-10, a new peak on the Billboard 100, which blends all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data.
The chart is led for the first time this week by Silk Sonic's 'Leave The Door Open'.
According to Billboard, Wolf’s breakthrough also hits the Streaming Songs Top 10 (11-8; 18 million, up 9%), impacts the Digital Song Sales survey (down 3-4 on 12,000, down 1%) and debuting at No. 50 on Radio Songs (15.5 million, a spike of 26%).
Cut with electronic producer Tyron Hapi, ‘Astronaut’ lifts 18-14 on the midweek U.K. chart, a new peak.

And last Friday, it hit a new high on the ARIA Singles Chart, gaining 5-4 and summiting on the ARIA Australian Artist Singles Chart for the first time.
It’s huge everywhere, a fact reflected by its sixth weekly stint in the top 10 of both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, where it has hit Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.
It’s also pushed into the Top 5 in Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Hungary.
Not bad for a song originally released two years ago, in 2019.
The song took flight in recent months, when it went viral on TikTok. It’s now closing-in on 300 million plays on Spotify, more than 120 million combined views on YouTube.
Last month, the hip-hopper led the Top 10 on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart, ahead of Kali Uchis and Ritt Momney, respectively, and Wolf recently snagged Billboard Magazine’s monthly Chartbreaker profile.
With the song heating up on social platforms, Wolf signed a global recording contract last December with Elektra/Warner Music Group, excluding Australia and New Zealand, where he retains his deal under Teamwrk Records in partnership with ADA/Warner Music Australia.
Elektra re-released the single in early 2021.
As previously reported, attention now turns to a remix, and Wolf is said to be working on his major-label debut album.
