Lizzo is refusing to settle her backup dancers' sexual harassment lawsuit.
Lizzo's world was rocked several years ago when her former backup dancers accused her of sexual harassment and fat-shaming behaviour, shortly after she concluded her world tour.
Almost three years on, the US pop star is still fighting the case.
In a new interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings (as per Rolling Stone), Lizzo insisted that she has no plans to settle.
“I think it is an easy out, but I’m fighting the case because I know that it’s not true,” she told the host.
The three backup dancers in questions — Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez — accused Lizzo of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment.
Another shocking claim was that Lizzo, famously a proponent of body positivity at the time, allegedly fat-shamed Davis and later fired her because of her weight gain.

Lizzo told King that she took this allegation seriously “because of what I mean to people.”
A judge dismissed some of the lawsuit's main claims last December, including the fat-shaming allegations. Lizzo, however, still stands accused of allegedly peer-pressuring a dancer into touching a woman’s naked breast during a night out in Amsterdam in February 2023.
Lizzo also denies that accusation. She said that if the lawsuit does ever make it to trial, she is ready to take the stand. “I would look fabulous while doing it," she joked, adding that “I’m not afraid of the truth. The truth is less salacious than the headlines.”
Lizzo recently returned with new single "Bitch", which is the lead single from her upcoming album of the same name, out next month on June 5th.
Her new track samples Meredith Brooks’ 1997 feminist anthem of the same name and Missy Elliott’s song, “She’s a Bitch”.
“I feel like what both of those women did was they pushed that word forward in a way that empowered it, instead of taking the power away,” Lizzo said.
