Lewis Capaldi is heading Down Under.

The Scottish singer and songwriter will play seven shows in Christchurch, Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth this November and December, for a tour produced by Secret Sounds, an affiliate of Live Nation.

Those dates will mark Capaldi's first in these parts since his spot at Falls Festival in 2019/20, and his Auckland Town Hall show in 2019. The "Someone You Loved" singer was originally confirmed to co-present the 2022 ARIA Awards with Natalie Imbruglia, but canceled his appearance ahead of the big day.

Capaldi is on the comeback, after a two-year stretch away from the limelight. He has spoken candidly about his battles with mental health, particularly anxiety and Tourette syndrome, and made a welcome return to the stage last month with a "surprise" set at Glastonbury Festival, the site of an earlier performance, in 2023, where he was visibly overwhelmed and briefly unable to perform, prompting the audience to sing in his stead.

“I’m not going to say much up here today, because if I do, I’ll probably start crying,” he told the crowd on this occasion. “It’s just amazing to be here with you all, and I can’t thank you enough for coming out and coming to see me. Second time’s the charm on this one.”

Capaldi's rise has been nothing short of meteoric. His first album, 2019's Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, was the best-seller in the UK for consecutive years. That record housed the hit "Someone You Loved," which led the Official Chart for seven weeks and has eclipsed Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" to become the UK's most streamed song of all time. It's one of his six UK No. 1 singles, and his two studio albums have topped the national chart.

Capaldi's second studio album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Chart in 2023, besting the No. 7 peak for its predecessor.
