Gotye, Eskimo Joe, Jet, The Vines and The Grates are just some of the Aussies who’ve played in Korea. Now there’s a push to get a Korean presence at Big Sound 2014.
Discussions have begun with Big Sound’s new programmer Nick O’Byrne and Korea’s music conference and showcase MU:CON (Oct 10 to 12).
The push for the Korean contingent is being spearheaded by Sofie Kim Blichfeldt, an Aussie/Korean who worked in Australia booking acts for TV, events and festivals. Now based in Seoul, she books alternate Korean acts and presents her own segment on Radio TBSeFM. Blichfeldt can be reached at sofiekim1@gmail.com.
