MTV has announced that The Kid LAROI will be performing at next week's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

The Australia-born teen sensation is set to take the stage at New York's Barclay Centre alongside Justin Bieber on Monday, September 13 with the duo being locked in to deliver a performance of their hit single 'STAY'.

The single, which was recently certified Platinum in the US and double Platinum in Australia, has spent a heady seven weeks atop of the ARIA Singles Chart and broke a number of records upon hitting #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 last month.

The Kid LAROI is also up for two awards on the evening, being nominated for Best New Artist and PUSH Performance of the Year following the release of last year's breakout mixtape F*CK LOVE.

Justin Bieber and Megan Thee Stallion lead the 2021 VMA nominees with seven and six nods apiece, with Billie Eilish, Drake, Lil Nas X and BTS also up for awards.

Other artists set to perform at the event include Foo Fighters, Doja Cat, Twenty One Pilots, Olivia Rodrigo, Kacey Musgraves and Doja Cat, who will also host this year's event.

The 2021 MTV VMAs air locally from 8:30am on Monday September 13 on MTV.
