Hip hop artist Ziggy joins VIVID panel on constitutional recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders will take part in ‘Its Time. Or is it? The Road to Constitutional Recognition’, a panel at this year’s Vivid Ideas festival.

Presented by APRA AMCOS, the panel will be led by triple j journalist Brooke Boney as prominent members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island community discuss constitutional recognition for Australia’s indigenous people.

50 years ago, 90 per cent of Australians voted ‘yes’ in a referendum to change the constitution and ensure indigenous people were counted equally in the population count. Now, hip hop artist Ziggy, Fighting In Solidarity Towards Treaties (FISTT) representative Lynda-June Coe, and RECOGNISE Campaign Director Mark Yettica-Paulson will reflect upon this vote. Exploring what we have and haven’t achieved, the panel will discuss what the creative community can do to move forward on this matter.

The panel discussion will take place at the Giant Dwarf in Redfern on Tuesday May 30, from 6pm to 8pm. Tickets are free, but registration is essential to ensure your spot in the audience.
