Green Music Australia has unveiled a new three-part series on sustainability in the music scene.

The collection of three online events will propose ideas on how to think sustainably when it comes to producing music events, and is presented in partnership with the City of Stonnington in Melbourne's south-east.

The first event, 'Hitting Reset', will explore the pathways industry workers can take to gig sustainably. The second, 'A Greener Scene', delves into how to turn your vision of a green event into a reality. Finally, the third event will be a screening of the short documentary Blak is Green, which explores why platforming First Nations voices matters in sustainability discussions.

Speakers at the events include musicians Stella Donnelly and Cecil Coleman, and Strawberry Fields director Tara Benney, among others.

Green Music Australia CEO Berish Bilander said the industry has an opportunity to act now.

"As the music industry starts back up after a year of COVID disruptions, we have a rare opportunity to collectively create and imbed new sustainable practices," Bilander said.

"More and more people are looking for practical solutions to reduce their environmental impact and lend their support to the broader climate movement, but don’t always know where to start. The Greener Scene online discussions will give folks the ‘how to’ knowledge and inspiration to get cracking."

The three virtual events will be spread across four weeks, kicking off in early June. More information is available here.
