Golden Robot Records expands with U.K. signings Scuttlers and Dirty Laces: Exclusive

Golden Robot Records is building its business in the U.K. with the addition of rising northerners Scuttlers and Dirty Laces to its stable.

Scuttlers, from Manchester, are four schoolmates with a melodic swagger that falls somewhere between The Libertines and DMA’s.

Led by frontman Kaiden Nolan, the band dropped the single ‘Leaders of a Lost Generation’ in February.

“Their sound distorted guitar riffs and massive drums make for an infectious combo, one that is seeing the band continue and rise out of Manchester later this year,” reads a blog piece introducing the group on Northern Exposure.

Fellow Mancs Dirty Laces are a rock ‘n’ roll outfit who get busy with grinding, hypnotic guitars, big drum fills and a dash of MC5 and The Cult.

The five-piece is also coming off a pre-COVID release, with the throbbing track 'You' dropping in March.

Speaking exclusively with The Industry Observer, Mark Alexander-Erber, President & Founder of Golden Robot Global Entertainment, parent of the label, said: “We are very excited to expand our U.K. roster to include these incredible bands and we are looking forward to taking them to the world.”

The new arrivals to GRR join a roster of British acts that includes Chesterfield’s The Crooks, Brighton’s Naipia and Manchester’s HAiG.

Dirty Laces

Launched in 2015 in Sydney, Golden Robot Global Entertainment has enjoyed a growth spurt in recent years.

The group now boasts nine international record labels, active in rock, punk, country, alternative, metal, hip-hop and indie, and including Social Family Records and Bread & Butter Records.

The independent music company now has international offices in Los Angeles, New York, Auckland, Hamburg, Tokyo and London and has contracts with the likes of rockers L.A. Guns, Jefferson Starship, Phil X and Johnny Thunders.

In May 2019, as the group launched three new labels and announced a string of new artist signings and releases, Alexander-Erber commented, “This is the story of an Aussie based international label taking on the big boys around the world.”
