Concert promoters Dion Brant and Paul Dainty, ticketing heavyweight Mark Yovich, and venues veteran Peter Loxton lead the Australian contingent for Billboard’s latest Power Players list, this time recognising the top executives in the live event sector.

Brant, CEO of Frontier Touring, is saluted in the Promoters International category, for his work driving stadium tours for Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters and more.

“Despite the myriad challenges Australian concert promoters face, Frontier Touring continues to impress,” reads Billboard.

The promoter “has also been instrumental in increasing country music’s touring footprint Down Under, promoting major names such as Morgan Wallen, The Chicks, Lainey Wilson and Luke Combs — the lattermost is already slated to return in early 2025.”

Melbourne-based Frontier Touring won for best promoter at the inaugural Variety Live Biz breakfast in June 2024.

Brant’s colleague Adam Wilkes, U.S.-born president/CEO of AEG Asia Pacific, and chairman of Frontier Touring, also gets the nod.

Brisbane-based Loxton, COO of ASM Global (APAC), appears in the 2024 Billboard Touring Power Players list in the category for Venues International.

“Peter is a force to be reckoned with in bringing new content to venues and fans across the Asia Pacific and Middle East Region,” reads a social post from ASM Global.

“Thank you, Peter, for your commitment to bringing a top-notch entertainment experience to our guests around the world,” the statement continues. “A very well-deserved recognition.”

ASM Global has a portfolio of more than 300 venues, including Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, Perth’s RAC Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and Suncorp Stadium, which last week extended its 20-year long partnership with Ticketek, part of the TEG Group.

Meanwhile, Legendary British-born, Australian concert promoter Paul Dainty, founder of TEG Dainty, an arm of TEG, is also represented.

Elsewhere on the list, Mark Yovich, the Perth-born president of Ticketmaster, gets the nod in the Ticketing category, while Louis Messina, founder/CEO of Messina Touring Group, is Billboard’s executive of honour.

Brant and Loxton were among the Australian honourees in Billboard’s International Power Players List, published in April of this year.
