Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Roxy Music land first time nominations for Rock Hall of Fame

Hard rock band Def Leppard, singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks and art-rock British band Roxy Music are among those who finally got their first nominations for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.

Other first-timers are inspiring producer and performer Todd Rundgren, ‘80s oddballs Devo, and US folkie John Prine.

Others have been nominated numerous times before.

Rapper and actor LL Cool J and the German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk have their hopeful caps on as they return with their fifth nomination.

Seminal Detroit power trio MC5 (Kick Out The Jams) and English ‘60s pop-rock outfit The Zombies (She’s Not There) return for a fourth try.

Janet Jackson and Rufus (featuring Chaka Khan) are third-timers, and The Cure, Radiohead and Rage Against The Machine have been already put up twice before.

Nicks has already been inducted as part of Fleetwood Mac in 1998.

Over 1,000 members of the Hall of Fame will vote, while the public can vote (for one act a day) at rockhall.org.

Winners will be announced in December, with the 34th annual ceremony set for March 29 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in New York City.
