City of Melbourne's annual arts grants will open next week, with musicians, performers, bands, composers, and artists from all disciplines eligible to apply.

Grants of up to $20,000 are available, with applications open from Tuesday, September 1 at 9am.

Announcing the grants today (August 25), City of Melbourne noted that applicants can be located anywhere as long as the project results in a public outcome within the City of Melbourne boundaries.

"Projects presented online and creative developments without a public outcome will also be eligible if they can demonstrate a connection to the City of Melbourne," said the announcement.

There will be a series of free, online grant-writing workshops held by Debby Maziarz which you can register for at Eventbrite.

"City of Melbourne recognises and acknowledges that many artists and arts organisations are experiencing difficulty with planning, creating and delivering projects due to COVID-19," added City of Melbourne on its grant website.

"Therefore the 2021 grant round will accommodate flexibility to enable artists to adapt to the changing community circumstances."
