Britney Spears Arrested in US for Alleged DUI

Britney Spears has reportedly been arrested in the US.
The pop legend was arrested by California Highway Patrol on Wednesday evening, according to an inmate search on the Ventura County Sheriff's Office website (as per Rolling Stone).
Britney was reportedly suspected of allegedly driving under the influence, though the website doesn't list a reason for her arrest.
Britney was released early the following morning as a "cite & release." Her vehicle is now in a tow lot. She will now have to report to Ventura County Superior Court on May 4th.
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” a rep for Britney told Rolling Stone. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the rep added. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
Britney's arrest comes after Page Six reported last October that Britney had been caught allegedly driving dangerously, tailgating other drivers. The alleged incident took place around the release of her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s controversial memoir, You Thought You Knew.

In other Britney news, it was reported earlier this year that she had sold her music catalogue and associated rights to publishing company Primary Wave, in a deal tipped to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The terms of the agreement weren't publicly disclosed, and representatives for both Britney and Primary Wave declined to comment when contacted by media. The sale was first reported by TMZ, which estimated the deal’s value to be in the low nine figures.
