Board updates for AMPAL & CBAA, Music Victoria AGM tonight

AMPAL has re-elected Matthew Capper as its chair.

AMPAL

The Australasian Music Publishers’ Association (AMPAL) has re-elected Matthew Capper (Warner/Chappell Music Australia) as chair, and Clive Hodson (Perfect Pitch Publishing) as deputy chair of the board.

Also at the AGM, Bob Aird (Universal Music Publishing Group), Matthew Donlevy (Frankdon Music Pty Ltd), Jane English (Music Sales), Simon Moor (Kobalt Music Group), and Philip Walker (Origin Music Group) were re-elected.

AMPAL GM Matthew O’Sullivan spoke about the key issues facing its 55 members in Australia and New Zealand and welcomed its engagement with the parliamentary inquiry into the Australian music industry


CBAA

Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA,) has welcomed three new members to its board and farewelled two.

Coming on board are Daniel Ahern (program director at FBi Radio), Quinn Glasson (station manager of Perth’s Curtin FM) and former triple j and XYZ music channels exec Jacquie Riddell as ordinary Board Members, and Anne Frankenburg  who was elected vice president after acting in the role in 2017 following Melanie Withnall’s departure.

Molly George of SYN Media is the new CBAA youth representative. She also produces the Babeland podcast about women and non-binary artists in Melbourne.

Molly takes over from retiring youth rep Pip Younes.

Outgoing members were Tony Smythe and Natalie Pozdeev.

Peter Rohweder (4EB) and Wayne Stamm (2NUR) remain members.

Phillip Randall (Hope FM) remains as president and Emma Hart remains a women’s representative for the second year of her term.


MUSIC VICTORIA

Nominees for the Music Victoria board are publicist Heidi Braithwaite, Melinda Dine who is development management at The Push, musician and regional venue booker Tim Heath, musician, DJ and producer Warren Hunter, Mushroom Group royalty manager Gerarda McKenna; and Mushroom Creative House manager and former Beat editor Cara Williams.

The association’s AGM is held tonight (Tuesday, December 4) at upstairs in the City Bar at the Corner Hotel, 57 Swan Street, Richmond from 6:00pm.

The City Bar at the Corner is an accessible venue.
