Birds of Tokyo, Alison Wonderland, Something For Kate announced for The Sound

Birds of Tokyo, DJ Alison Wonderland, Something For Kate and a handful of other artists have been announced for the upcoming episode of ABC's music series The Sound.

The latest episode arrives shortly after the release of Birds of Tokyo's latest track 'Weekend', which will have its live debut on the show. Other performers announced for this Sunday's lineup include Jezabels' frontwoman Hayley Mary, Ziggy Ramo, Kate Ceberano and rising act Kirsten Salty.

For the show's tribute segment, Mo'Ju, You Am I's Tim Rogers, Waax and DZ Deathrays' Shane Parsons will join forces to pay homage to Aussie rock bands INXS and The Loved Ones.

Archival footage of the late singer-songwriter Gurrumul will also be aired.

Last weekend's episode of The Sound featured a collaborative performance of Tones And I's new single 'Fly Away', which also featured G Flip, Pierce Brothers and Adrian Eagle. Rounding out the lineup was Jimmy Barnes with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Julia Jacklin, Ziggy Alberts, Tia Gostelow, Casey Barnes and Azure Ryder.

The Sound broadcasts on Sundays at 6pm on .
