UPDATE (June 27): Tickets are now on sale for BIGSOUND. For just $85+bf, a 4-night Rainbow Pass gets you a wristband to access 270 showcases across 18 Fortitude Valley venues all within three blocks. Tickets here.

It feels like only yesterday the world of Aussie music had their sights focused on Brisbane's BIGSOUND, but now, the annual conference is gearing up for another stellar year, dropping its first live artist announcement today.

Just over a month ago, BIGSOUND revealed that it had tapped some pretty huge names for its 2019 event. With the likes of Nettwerk’s Terry McBride as keynote speaker, and representatives from Sub Pop, Concord Music, and more, this year is already on track to break new ground.

Now though, BIGSOUND have unveiled its first artist lineup for 2019, boasting some of the most exciting names on the scene.

Featuring artists like Tones And I, Milan Ring, Tasman Keith, Alana Jagt, Bad//Dreems, yergurl, EGOISM, Stevan, and Electric Fields, this first list is just scratching the service, with these 76 acts serving as just over half of what will become a total of 150 acts across 18 stages this September.

Produced by QMusic, BIGSOUND brings together some of the biggest bands from across Australia in an exhilarating showcase of who the stars of tomorrow will be. Considering that the public first had a look at names like Flume, Courtney Barnett, Tash Sultana, and The Middle East at BIGSOUND, this undoubtedly bodes well for the future of these artists.

Even more excitingly, BIGSOUND have launched the Artist Village, which provides "a sanctuary and meeting place" for the 150 live performing acts to relax, network, and make the most of their time at the conference.

“The BIGSOUND Artist Village has turned our festival up to eleven with this game-changing initiative designed to look after showcasing artists,” explains QMusic CEO Angela Samut.

“The Artist Village was announced to all showcasing artists and was fully booked in 24 hours with a wait list.

“We look forward to welcoming BIGSOUND artists to the Village where they can relax, rehearse and with the potential to form new collaborations.”

Open from 10am to 4pm each day, the Artist Village offers free accommodation and complimentary breakfast, alongside a number of other features, including artist workshops, informal interview spaces, rehearsal room, and also brand networking opportunities.

Tickets for the 2019 edition of BIGSOUND go on sale from 9am on June 27th through Oztix. For all ticketing info, be sure to head along to the festival's ticketing page.
