946,000 metro viewers tuned in last night at 8 pm to ABC-TV’s Australian Story as singer Jenny Morris aired her medical woes for the first time in public.

Morris revealed how her successful singing career virtually ended when she was diagnosed ten years ago with spasmodic dysphonia.  The neurological voice disorder involves "spasms" of the vocal cords causing interruptions of speech. It also causes the voice to break up or give it a “strangled” quality.

It was the eighth most watched show on television last night.

The program with the most eyeballs was Nine’s A Current Affair report on how SBS is set to commission a second season of Struggle Street in Sunshine, Victoria. It drew 1.135 million viewers in the five capital cities.

As it goes into this week’s fingernail-biting Double Elimination, Seven’s The X Factor climbed up to 1.017 million. It brought back 69,000 viewers whom it lost last week
