Emerging indie-pop act PLANET has officially joined the Dew Process roster.

The Sydney-based group will be represented by the label within Australia and New Zealand, while Run On Records/ Modern Sky will represent the band's catalogue in the international market.

The announcement of PLANET's signing coincides with the release of their atmospheric new single 'Resign', which was recorded in lockdown and produced by GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Adrian Bushby (Muse, Foo Fighters, U2).

Johnny Mullen, head of A&R at Dew Process, heralded PLANET as a dynamic and exciting young band and praised the songwriting chops displayed by the act.

“We’re thrilled to be working with PLANET, such a dynamic and exciting young band. We’ve always admired their sense of melody and songcraft, and it’s an honour to have them join the Dew Process roster," Mullen said.

"Seriously can’t wait for people to hear that they’ve been working on over the last year and 'Resign' is a great first taste.”

In a group statement, PLANET said that they were looking forward to working alongside a dedicated team after years of being an independent act, and hinted at the impending arrival of new music.

“We’re really excited to finally announce our signing to Run On Records/Modern Sky UK and Dew Process in Australia," the band said.

"Being an independent band for many years it feels great to have a solid backing now with a strong team. Keen to get these new tunes out into the world.”

Forming in 2017, PLANET has gone on to achieve over one million streams independently, with recent releases 'Never Knew' and 'Reason Why' receiving national airplay and online coverage by a number of Australian music outlets.

The band is fronted by vocalist Matty Took, whose older brother Johnny serves as the guitarist for long-established indie rockers DMA's.
