Native Tongue Music Publishing has signed a global deal with emerging New Zealand indie-pop act There's A Tuesday.

The worldwide signing comes off the back of the Christchurch band's successful debut EP Dance With Me Before You Cry, which saw them embark on a headline tour and perform at several festivals in New Zealand last year.

The four-piece band will also support local breakout BENEE on her upcoming tour of Aotearoa in August.

Native Tongue's general manager for New Zealand Pennie Black noted the group's songwriting credentials as being a key factor in their signing.

"There’s A Tuesday display songwriting skills well beyond their years, which together with arresting vocals, warm harmonies and memorable hooks make the perfect combination to become your new favourite band," Black said.

In a joint statement, There's A Tuesday expressed their excitement at the prospect of joining the Native Tongue publishing roster.

"We’re all feeling both super happy and super confident in knowing we are going to be working alongside Native Tongue. Exciting things to come," the band said.
