Australian superstar Jessica Mauboy has a new record label, leaving Sony Music after 14 years.

The multi-platinum and multi-award-winning artist has now signed with Warner Music Australia, ahead of new music in 2021.

Mauboy first signed to Sony Music after her time on Australian Idol. She placed second in the fourth season of Idol back in 2006, losing the top spot to Damien Leith. She subsequently released albums including The Journey, Been Waiting, Get 'Em Girls, Beautiful and 2019's Hilda. Mauboy also spent time with other Idol contestants in pop group Young Divas, and has music on the soundtracks of both The Sapphires and The Secret Daughter.

Mauboy said she'd had an incredible journey with Sony Music, for which she will be "forever grateful".

"It’s now time for the next chapter of my career and I’m very excited to be joining the team at Warner Music. I have been spending my time in studio lately and looking forward to releasing new music in the new year," she added.

Niko Nordstrom, president of Warner Music Australasia said: “Jessica is a warm-hearted superstar artist and an exceptionally unique talent and we at Warner Music Australia are so thrilled to welcome her to the family.”

WMA A&R manager, Marcus Thaine added: “We are so over the moon to be working with Jessica. She is an unparalleled artist in Australian history, and we can't wait to bring her incredible creative vision to life in this new era of her career.”
