There was a moment early on in the pandemic when many believed that live streaming would be the saviour, but that all changed when fatigue set in. Why won't virtual gig save the events industry? And how can promoters best use the downtime time to reevaluate some bad habits?

All these questions and more are explored in the fifth TMN Tech Week video featuring Audience Republic's Jared Kristensen and publisher of The Music Network, Jake Challenor.

Tech Week is The Music Network’s annual content series dedicated to the thriving global music-tech sector, and for the first time will feature a daily livestream interview with key players.

The video series, premiered daily on Facebook, will include talks with local founders Josh Simons (Vampr)Jacqui Louez Schoorl (Jaxsta) and Jeremiah Siemianow (Muso).

Each interview will reveal how these platforms have innovated and diversified during the pandemic, and explore how the founders view tech’s role in supporting the industry.

Tech Week is presented in partnership with 7digital, whose APAC boss James Priestley joined TMN editor Vivienne Kelly to discuss the rise of music within popular apps like TikTok.

Tech Week will also feature major milestone updates from Nightlife, Vampr and Play MPE.
