Tones And I doubles down on the TMN Hot 100
Brisbane's Nova 106.9 & Hit105 helped break 'Dance Monkey' through this week.
Breakout indie act Tones And I has made further inroads on the TMN Hot 100.
The Byron singer-songwriter's latest cut 'Dance Monkey' made its debut at #73 this week thanks to support from triple j and two Brisbane stations — Nova 106.9 and Hit105.
The song is built around Tones And I's unique vocal timbre, and follows the success of breakthrough track 'Johnny Run Away'.
It means the artist now has two songs on the Hot 100. 'Johnny' currently sits at #50, having peaked at #27 last week.
The track reached #1 on the Alternative Chart in March after spending time on high rotation at triple j, before it was picked up by commercial.
Tones And I signed to Lemon Tree Music in March, having been discovered by manager Jackson Walkden-Brown while busking in Byron Bay.
