"This is such a special moment": Guy Sebastian celebrates career best radio hit 'Choir'

Guy Sebastian has just broken his career-best run atop the TMN Hot 100 Airplay Chart. 

‘Choir’ is on its sixth non-consecutive week at the chart's summit, pushing ahead of 2009 multi-Platinum hit ‘Like It Like That’ (five weeks) to become Sebastian’s longest-serving #1.

The achievement comes a year after the untimely passing of his bandmate Luke Liang, the inspiration behind the musical tribute. 

Sebastian began his run in July after knocking Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber's 'I Don't Care' off the top of the chart.

Overall, The Voice Australia judge has accumulated 15 weeks at the top of the chart across four singles, the others being 2012’s ‘Battle Scars’ ft. Lupe Fiasco and 2013’s ‘Like A Drum’.

Sebastian is now positioned second all-time among Aussie artists for most #1s on the chart, behind Delta Goodrem (eight). 

"I’ve released a lot of songs in my life," Sebastian said of the achievement.

"This one, in particular, is very special to me because it honours someone who I and many other musicians loved and respected so much. Being in a position to touch people through song is not something I take for granted.

"It also wouldn’t happen without the continued support I’ve had from radio all over this country from metro to regional and my incredible label Sony Music and team.

"This is such a special moment for ‘Choir’ and I am humbled that my fans have connected to the heart of the song. We’re in this together and I really am so humbled.
