TMN has added a new feature to the Hot 100 airplay chart following extensive coverage of Australian radio music quotas, including last week's op-ed. An emblem of the Australian flag will now appear next to each local act charting that particular week.

The move makes for an increased level of distinction for local talent getting airplay in Australia, as well as providing a more streamlined experience for users navigating the chart.

“With prominent names from overseas making up the bulk of airplay in the country, it’s easy for our artists to get lost in the crowd,” said TMN charts editor Peter Tuskan.

“The flag will elevate homegrown artists and make them stand out, and will also help our readers to have a better understanding of how our artists are performing in the Australian commercial radio sphere.”

For now, the feature is limited to the Hot 100 chart with the option of expanding the feature to other TMN charts in the future.
